BONIFAY — Holmes County Sheriff’s Office reports that three major burglaries were recently solved in Holmes County.

According to the report, on Aug. 28 the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from homeowners on Gillman Road in Westville who returned home and discovered the back door a-jar.

Upon further inspection of the home, it became obvious to the homeowners that several items had been taken, including Florida Wild Life Officer’s badges and jewelry. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrived and began their investigation.  Subsequently, information was obtained indicating that a Ponce de Leon man, Jason Lee Roberts, 30, had been in possession of at least one of the Officer’s badges.

Investigators then recovered several other items belonging to the homeowners from the residence of Jason Roberts.

A female suspect, Starla Lacosta Cooper, was located in Walton County Jail where she was being held on unrelated charges. Cooper was interviewed and more information related to the burglary was obtained.

Warrants were obtained on both Roberts and Cooper.

Roberts was arrested in Holmes County and is being held in the Holmes County Jail on a bond of twenty thousand dollars.

Cooper is being incarcerated in the Walton County Jail and has a hold from Holmes County for the charges of burglary and grand theft.
