BONIFAY — Hundreds of children from throughout Holmes County came to join in the free festivities provided by Bonifay First United Methodist Church during their annual “Light the Night “festival on Halloween night.

“The name was chosen to bring a more religious term than a standard secular one,” said Verna Roberts, Chair for Children’s Ministry and even coordinator. “To bring the light of Jesus to the world, especially to children.”

Roberts said that she thought this year’s attendance was good.

“I think it was a very good turn-out,” said Roberts. “We’re looking forward to next year and we’re looking to improve upon it and hopefully watch it grow over the years, relying on everyone to make it better for the children. We couldn’t have done it without a lot of help from various members of the church to make it happen.”
