CHIPLEY — The Northwest Florida Community Hospital Specialty Center has been open since November, but Tuesday was the official dedication when hospital officials unveiled the plaque dedicating the building to three local men.

“People will never know how important these three men were to the future of health care in Northwest Florida,” said Pat Schlenker, hospital president and CEO.

Lynn Cope, John Hall and Charles Brock were the three men of whom Schlenker spoke, and they were on hand to see the building officially dedicated to them.

The plaque reads: “The citizens of Washington County will be forever grateful to each of these gentlemen for making an unpopular but courageous and most importantly correct decision in 2003 concerning the future of healthcare in Washington County.”
