CHIPLEY — A 28-year-old pregnant woman was killed Monday morning after the pickup truck she riding in crashed on Interstate 10 in Washington County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Misty Nicole Hanson, 28, of Westville was the passenger in an eastbound 1995 Chevrolet pickup that veered into the median on I-10 near mile marker 119. The truck then crossed back through both lanes off traffic and entered the south shoulder and overturned.
The driver of the pickup is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the FHP.
Hanson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. She was taken to Bay Medical Center for treatment where she and her unborn child succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.
Another passenger, 54-year-old David Collier of Ponce De Leon, was taken to Northwest Florida Community Hospital with non-critical injuries.
