Flea Market Days are off to a slow start in Chipley, most likely due to yesterday's weather.
CHIPLEY — Today is the first day of the second annual “Flea Market Days” —today, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, in conjunction with the Flea Across Florida event being hosted by communities along a 272-mile-long stretch of I-10 extending from Lake City to Pensacola.
There is only one vendor out on Railroad Avenue, and there is a live band at the corner of Railroad and Main Street, but all the downtown merchants are open and looking for visitors.
Yesterday's stormy weather may have dampened today's flea market vendors, but tomorrow's weather forecast is partly cloudy with a high of 81 degrees, according to weather.com.
Clubs, organization, church groups and the general public are invited to participate tomorrow. Sales sites will range from large multi-organization sites to individual sites along Hwy 90 all across Washington County.
The sale will feature vendors selling everything from antiques, collectibles, furniture, odds and ends, as well as hand-crafted items and traditional yard sale fare.
